Sweden Online Sports Betting & Bookie Payment Methods

Sweden has a rich tapestry of online sportsbook payment options. Thanks to regulation & technology, unlike almost any country, people in Sweden can sign up for a sports betting account using their national banking credentials, without sharing full info with the bookie via a long-form registration process. Trustly is one banking technology provider that facilitates this, linking your betting site to your bank details in a snap. The other banking payments provider, which rhymes with "wish", provides a similar service, but prefers not to be named on sites like ours. Thus, your ability to find info pertaining to that payments provider is not easy.

Then of course, you have credit & debit cards, the former of which come with their own caveats to beware. Mobile payment methods like Apple Pay & GPay can work with these cards. Then there are e-wallet platforms like PayPal, Skrill and Neteller. Lastly, we touch on crypto and prepaid options like PaysafeCard. Every licensed sportsbook in Sweden supports a different mix of these payment methods. Below, we explain details about each method & show you what's supported at each of our top sportsbooks for Sweden, so you can bank how you please with a provider that suits your sports betting focus. We even show you where you can bet in Sweden with no BankID required.

Is Trustly available for online bank payments at every Swedish betting site?

Trustly is almost universally accepted in Sweden as a payment method, allowing for near instant payments and fast withdrawals. Nearly all of our recommended sportsbooks for Sweden support it, with one notable exception. While you can figure this out by seeing our recommended brands' accepted payment methods above, we also provide a full write-up on Sweden Trustly sportsbooks, where we call out the lone recommended brand that does not support Trustly.

Why credit cards are expensive vs. debit or e-wallet solutions for online bookmaker payments

Credit cards are widely available for making deposits at licensed sports betting sites in Sweden. While convenient, using credit cards for these transactions often comes with added costs, that are unforeseen at the moment of first payment. Banks treat payments to betting sites as ‘cash advances’ rather than 'purchases.' This means interest starts accruing from the moment the transaction is made, even if you always pay off your monthly balance in full. Additionally, your bank or card provider may charge a cash advance fee, often around 50 kr or more. With typical credit card interest rates hovering around 20% or higher, this can quickly become an expensive payment method to rely on regularly.

Fortunately, there are plenty of alternative payment options available that are as fast, more cost-effective, or connect directly to your Swedish bank account. These include reputable methods like Visa and Mastercard debit cards, as well as e-wallet solutions, or bank debit methods. Many betting sites licensed in Sweden also support debit card payments through services like Apple Pay or GPay, offering a seamless and low-fee transaction experience.

Is PayPal available at betting sites for Sweden?

Yes, but not every betting operator offers PayPal. You can find our recommended Sweden PayPal betting sites, if you prefer to use this popular e-wallet for your payments, or you wish to learn whether or not it's right for your needs.

Is Apple Pay available as an online bookie & casino payment method in Sweden?

Yes, Apple Pay is available as a payment method for online sportsbooks in Sweden. However, its availability depends on the specific operator. Since Apple Pay is linked to credit and debit cards, you can also use these cards directly at most betting sites. That said, credit card transactions through Apple Pay may incur "cash advance" fees, so it’s generally better to use a debit card as the underlying payment method whenever possible.

It's also worth noting that Apple Pay is used for deposits only. When it comes time to withdraw funds after having deposited with Apple Pay, the operator will typically decide on the withdrawal method. This is often a bank transfer, as required by anti-money laundering regulations. Read more about this popular method and available recommended providers on our write-up on the best Sweden Apple Pay sportsbooks.

Is GPay available for sportsbook payments in Sweden?

Yes. If you have an Android phone rather than an Iphone, this is good news. Although it is not as widely offered as Apple Pay, and generally speaking, very few Swedish sportsbooks offer it, there are several excellent brands that do support Google's GPay.  If you want to learn more about this mobile payment solution and the providers that support it, read our write up on the top Sweden GPay bookies.

What other e-wallets are available for online sportsbook & casino payments in Sweden?

Other e-wallets, Skrill and Neteller are available for use in Sweden, but again are not available at every betting provider. These payment options work in a similar fashion to PayPal, allowing you to make online payments or deposits by linking to your Swedish debit or credit card, bank account, or even funding via cryptocurrencies. These methods can allow for very high value transactions once you have a highly verified status.  They also essentially process payments and withdrawals in an instant.

What are the pre-paid solutions available at betting sites in Sweden

PaysafeCard is by far the most widely supported pre-paid solution online sportsboooks for Sweden, as well as the most widely available pre-paid option for physical purchase at retailers across the country.  With them, you simply buy the a voucher PIN at a retailer, then once at the online sportsbook cashier page, enter the card PIN code to grant your funds. However, not all Swedish sportsbooks offer this pre-paid method that gets your cash online. Read our write-up on the top Sweden PaysafeCard sportsbooks to learn more and to see which of our recommended betting operators support it.

Are there any Swedish betting sites that do not require BankID?

BankID is required for registration at almost every betting operator in Sweden. There's just one Swedish online bookie with no BankID requirement. If you don't have BankID and you want to know where you can bet on sports in Sweden, your option is the one and only bet365. BankID works with online bank transfer services like Trustly, linking your betting account details securely with your banking details. However, bet365 does not use these bank payment services in Sweden. bet365 supports payments via cards, Apple Pay, PayPal and paysafecard, so you'll need access to these methods in order to register then play, without BankID. (Correct available methods as of October 17, 2025. Check bet365 for up to date methods.)

Are cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, Ethereum or Tether available for payments at the top sportsbooks for Sweden?

All betting accounts in Sweden are based in SEK. There are no betting accounts in Sweden that are based in cryptocurrencies. However, with some e-wallets, like PayPal, Skrill or Neteller, you may fund your e-wallet account with a balance of crypto, and then exchange that toward Swedish kronor, and then use your e-wallet's SEK balance to make a deposit at your chosen betting site. So while the individual betting sites might not directly accept cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin or Ethereum, some e-wallets will facilitate this value exchange toward SEK.
